Welcome!
Simon Paralegal is a licensed practice focused on providing straightforward, affordable legal services to Ontarians dealing with everyday disputes. As a regulated member of the Law Society of Ontario, I offer representation in Small Claims Court (up to $50,000), Provincial Offences and traffic matters, administrative tribunals (such as the Landlord and Tenant Board, Licence Appeal Tribunal, Human Rights Tribunal, and Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal), and summary conviction proceedings for less serious offences. My goal is to make justice accessible by delivering practical advice, document preparation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy without unnecessary complexity or high costs.
My Background
I'm Taylor Simon, the founder and principal paralegal at Simon Paralegal. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Calgary (major in Crime, Deviance, and Social Control, minor in Psychology and Business, with a certificate in small group dynamics), a Master of Science in Human Movement and Biomechanics from A.T. Still University (specializing in elite sport performance and athlete rehabilitation), and a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from Queen's University. Most recently, I completed Seneca Polytechnic's accelerated Paralegal Diploma program, graduating with honours.
Professional Experience
Over the past two decades, I've built and managed successful businesses, developing skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, task management, and client communication that apply directly to legal advocacy. As owner/operator of Taylored Training Fitness Inc., I founded and grew a fitness and rehabilitation center, overseeing operations, strategy, and team leadership. Earlier roles included franchise ownership at College Pro Painters, directing a summer camp for children (developing inclusive programs and supervising international staff), and heading operations at a waterpark (managing emergencies, maintenance, and employees). These experiences taught me to navigate challenges efficiently, negotiate outcomes, and prioritize client needs. Additionally, I maintain a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, reflecting my commitment to professional standards.
My Approach to Practice
At Simon Paralegal, I draw on my background in sociology, business, and leadership to approach each case with critical thinking and a client-first mindset. Whether it's fighting a traffic ticket, resolving a landlord-tenant dispute, or representing you in Small Claims or a tribunal, I focus on clear communication, thorough preparation, and practical results. As a new licensee, I'm dedicated to building a practice rooted in transparency and accessibility, ensuring you understand your options every step of the way.
A Bit More About Me
Outside the office, I'm an avid outdoorsman who enjoys motorcycling through Ontario's backroads, or I can be found hiking with my canine best friend. These pursuits keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance, much like helping clients navigate life's unexpected challenges with steady, reliable support.
