At Simon Paralegal, the consultation is a first step to discuss your matter, confirm whether it is within my scope and talk about next steps. It's simply a conversation. I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation by phone, video or in person. Legal advice and representation begin once a retainer agreement is signed.

Reach Out: Contact me by phone, email or the form on the Contact page. Include your name, preferred contact method (phone, email, or virtual), and a very brief overview of your matter (e.g., “bylaw charge” or “Small Claims dispute”). No detailed descriptions are needed at this stage.

Schedule a Meeting: I will arrange a convenient time for a virtual, in-person, or phone discussion.

Case Overview Discussion: during the meeting, you can share the high-level facts of your situation. I will explain whether it falls within the authorized scope as a licensed paralegal, outline realistic next steps, and answer your questions so you can make an informed decision.

Decide on Next Steps: If we both agree it’s a good fit and you choose to proceed, I will prepare a retainer agreement. Only then does the formal client relationship begin and work start.
